
Diploma in Dance Education
(DDE)
The DDE is the official teaching qualificaton of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).
It is made up of 5 Units of work, some of these are practical and some are academic.
Academic units are available on the ISTD's online app (Totara) which you will gain access to once you have enrolled for the qualification.
UNIT 5 - SOCIAL,EMOTIONAL AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
Online training , with support from our tutors.
UNIT 4 - DANCE PRACTICE
Learn and understand the syllabus for your chosen genre, demonstration of technique and teaching points. Group and individual classes are available in this unit.
UNIT 1 - PREPARING FOR SAFE TEACHING PRACTICE
Completed through Totara.
UNIT 2 -ASSISTING, OBSERVING AND TEACHING PRACTICE
Create a portfolio of Observations and Lesson Plans, with the support of our tutors. Followed by an recorded assessment class.
UNIT 3 - VOCATIONAL GRADED EXAMINATION IN DANCE , INTERMEDIATE
The Intermediate level practical examination in the genres of dance you wish to to be qualified in.
DDE CLASSES
Group classes for Unit 3 and 4 (Modern and Tap) take place weekly,on Monday evenings.
Private classes can also be arranged, at other days/times if preferred.
